The Centre for Environment and Social Justice (CESJ) works hand-in-hand with local communities, policymakers and experts to build a greener, fairer Mizoram.
Who We Are
Founded by a group of dedicated environmental activists, CESJ was officially registered on January 11, 2023, under the Mizoram Society Registration Act, 2005. For years prior, our team has been on the front lines—documenting pollution, advising community stakeholders, and pressing for stronger protections. Our primary focus is to ensure a preserved future for our future generations by safeguarding our environment. We also work with various NGOs to fight any kind of social evils that can disrupt the peaceful structure of our society. We compromises of influential academics, writer, activists, reporters, retired officers etc.
We blend rigorous science, legal advocacy and grassroots empowerment. By partnering with community-based organizations and traditional leaders, every project is rooted in local needs and cultural values.
Aside environmental issues various causes of our environmental crisis are being an indirect effects of various social evils and policies of which the primary cases involves corrupted practices by politician, bureaucrats and corporates that aims to capitalize on our environment to gain personal profits through various methods of exploitation.1
